Abstract

Driven by the effects of the COVID19 pandemic, various attempts are currently being made to initiate approaches to digital learning in TVET programs.

In the focus of this course, which is addressed to GIZ employees, the participants are given an insight into basics of the world of TVET e-learning in order to achieve competences to carry out an initial consultation on e-learning in TVET with the partners of TVET programs in partner countries.

Learning Objectives

On completion of the training, participants
  • analyse technical and personnel requirements of digital learning with regards to GIZ TVET projects
  • discuss the planning of a basic competence-oriented e-learning arrangement in TVET
  • investigate the transformation of TVET classroom didactics to e-didactics
  • explore digital tools for cooperative and collaborated learning in TVET
  • debate opportunities and limitations of e-learning / blended-learning in TVET
  • select necessary additional training courses for addressing specific requirements in TVET programs

  • Technical requirements for digital learning
  • Qualification requirements of TVET teachers and trainers for realizing e-learning
  • Learning Management systems e.g. Moodle
  • Differences of video conference tools, as BigBlueButton, VooD, MS-Teams
  • Microsoft 365 (Office 365)
  • Open source versus commercial software
  • E-didactics e.g. Project oriented, Teacher-centred/ student-centred, e-groupwork, e-feedback, practical e-lesson
  • Additional tools e.g. class book, online - / offline tools, collaboration, whiteboard, ...
  • E-/ Blended-Learning course

Prerequisites

As previous knowledge the participants possess basic PC and Internet knowledge

 

Remarks

Virtual Format implemented with following methods:

  • Lectures/presentations via video-livestream, download or both using digital tools like Digital Whiteboard, Collaboration software, Office software, Practical training
  • Cooperative work on tasks and documents, e.g. via Moodle as Learning Management with video server
  • One-on one mentoring via video call, e-mail,
  • Group communication
