Rice is vital for billions of farmers and consumers who depend on it for livelihoods and sustenance. However, the industry is faced with innumerable challenges concerning the environment and value chains. Sustainable rice production has therefore become a reliable solution to help our rice industry – proven to be cost-effective and provide a higher quantity of better quality crops in the long run.
This SRP-Authorized Training Course is an online training, designed for persons who will implement registered Sustainable Rice Platform (SRP) programs, particularly those conducting farmer outreach and farmer capacity building activities. Participants will not only understand, in-depth, the SRP Standard for Sustainable Rice Cultivation and Performance Indicators but will also learn how to implement these SRP instruments in their own context.
The training is spanned over 5 days with 3-hour input discussion session and 1-hour group/individual work session per day. Participants are to reserve 1 hour for pre-reading and preparation every day.
Upon the completion of the course, participants will be eligible for an examination. Successful candidates will be endorsed by SRP and included in SRP Authorized Trainers Register. from which, registered SRP outreach projects may select trainers to conduct their own training.
*The Sustainable Rice Platform (SRP) is a multi-stakeholder platform to promote resource efficiency and sustainability in the global rice sector through an alliance that links research, production, policy making, trade and consumption.
